Research areas in Cell Biology and Biophysics
Each of our sections is dedicated to the understanding of cells: Their biological, chemical and physical characteristics. Research ranges from the nanometer scale in the molecular area to macroscopic, multicellular systems. Cellular biosystems include both individual cells and more complex structures such as tissue or intracellular components. The microenvironment describes the specialized environment in which these biosystems operate and which is of central importance for their function and interaction.
Our research projects contribute to key applications at the intersection of cell biology, biophysics and medicine.
