At the spring meeting of the condensed matter section of the german physics association (DPG) Prof. Rudorf and Dr. Christ of the Computational Biology department organised the Focus Session "Innovations in Research Software Engineering" in cooperation with the professional associations for biological physics and dynamics and statistical physics.
Toby Hodges, , Director of Curriculum of The Carpentries, gave the opening talk followed by a dense program of talks about recent development in domain software, research software engineering itself and handling of data and software.
